There’s more to Memphis than Elvis and Johnny Cash, the city has a renowned BBQ culture! Best known for it’s dry style BBQ pulled pork and ribs, Memphis is a mean contender on the American BBQ scene. Memphis BBQ has a distinctively sweet and tangy smoked flavor, with bitey hits of vinegar. Dishes can be served either dry, with a delicious coating of specially selected spices, or wet, finished off with a choice Memphis sauce.
At Street Kitchen, we don’t want to limit your options! So we’ve developed a recipe that offers both renowned Memphis dry and wet dishes! Slow cook your meat with our specially formulated dry rub, then serve with our punchy BBQ sauce to add an extra layer of flavor.
Rub Street Kitchen Memphis Style BBQ seasoning all over the ribs
Place meat onto BBQ and cook for 30 minutes with lid down
Cover the ribs with foil, reduce heat to 300°F and continue cooking for 45 minutes with the lid down
Sauce: Spread half of the Street Kitchen Memphis Style BBQ Sauce 1 minute before the ribs are cooked
Finish: Serve the ribs covered with the remaining sauce
Use a brush to baste the Street Kitchen Memphis Style BBQ Sauce across the ribs for the last few minutes of cooking, keeping a portion for dipping. Add deep-fried onion rings and slaw for the real Memphis style experience
For every extra 2.2 lb pork, add an extra 60 minutes cooking. For example: for 6.6 lb pork, cook for a total of 4 hours and use 3 Street Kitchen kits
